Eagle's Nest, Berchtesgaden and Ramsau with famous church and lake
About This Experience
From November to about May 10th (depends on the snow conditions of the year), the Eagle's Nest direct access road is closed, alternatively we offer to visit the Rossfeld summit instead. From this vantage point, soak in panoramic views of the stunning Austrian and Bavarian Alps and the nearby Eagle's Nest. Feel free to choose this option also when Eagle's Nest is opened if you prefer a much less crowded, more local site than the Eagle's Nest.

Dive deeper into the area's history with a visit to the Obersalzberg, the Hotel zum Tuerken, and the Berghof ruins. The Berghof, located at 3000 ft elevation, was Hitler’s former mountain residence at the Obersalzberg. The Hotel zum Tuerken was used by the Nazis and is very close to Hitler's Berghof. Today the Hotel zum Tuerken is private and can't be visited.

From the Obersalzberg you will access the Eagle's Nest with special busses and elevator. You will have 2 hours at the Eagle's Nest. Take a stroll to the very close summit Kehlstein to overlook the picturesque Bavarian and Austrian Alps.

The St. Sebastian Church built already 1512, got famous in a time long before photo cameras were founded, many of the painters came for painting the nice scenery with the river, church and the mountains in the background. This is how that small village got known for tourism long before others did.
