About This Experience

The idea of taking an electric bike tour in Rio was born from my passion for cycling and my love for the city where I chose to live.
After several days of pedaling through the forest with a normal bicycle, I began to wonder how it would be possible to make this experience viable for many more people.
This is how I came up with the idea of buying electric bicycles capable of assisting those who need them along the way. (the bicycles are pedal assisted, have no accelerator and are not a motorcycle)
During this experience you will have the opportunity to get to know many wonderful places, not very accessible and less known.
At the end of the day you will have a different image of Rio de Janiero, and you will know much more about how the city is composed and structured.
In addition to this you will be in constant contact with nature, with possible and probable encounters with toucans, monkeys and many other exotic animals.

Tour Itinerary

1

35 min

We will meet at Rua Aarão Reis 105, where I will show you how electric bicycles work and give you advice on how to tackle the tour. We will start cycling through the Santa Teresa neighborhood in the direction of Mirante Dona Marta, passing through various tourist points such as the Castelo Valentim, the Mirante Dos Prazeres, and the CEAT school, inspired by the old palace in Florence.

2

30 min

We will arrive at Mirante Dona Marta, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the city, where we will park the bikes and take various photos with a view of Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf and I will explain how the city is structured.

3

20 min

From the Mirante Dona Marta we will head to the Centro de Vistante Paneiras (Christ the Redeemer car park), where there is a bathroom and a bar to take a break.

4

40 min

From the Centro de Vistante Paneiras we will start the cycle path inside the roads of the Tijuca forest. We will pass by numerous incredible views of the wonderful city, we will have possible encounters with monkeys, toucans and other exotic animals. We will reach the Alto da Boa Vista district by descending from Corcovado (the mountain where Christ the Redeemer is located), where there will be the opportunity to go to the bathroom and freshen up.

5

20 min

From the Alto da Boa Vista district we will resume our tour in the direction of the emperor's table, facing another climb that will be made less tiring with the help of pedal assistance. The Emperor's Table is where Emperor Dom Pedro II used to picnics, with an incredible view of the southern area of Rio de Janeiro.

6

20 min

From the Table of the Emperor we will begin to descend towards the Vista Chinesa, one of the most famous and least accessible viewpoints in the city. From here it will be possible to see Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf, Lagoa, Ipanema, Guanabara Bay and many other places in the city. I will take several souvenir photos and we will start the last descent to Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas.

7

30 min

From the Vista Chinesa we will go down towards Lagoa, passing through the Horto waterfalls (place where it will be possible to stop to take pictures and take a quick bath) and to the side of the Rio Botanical Garden. We will ride a good part of the Lagoa cycle path, where there are various incredible views of Rio, towards Copacabana.

8

20 min

We will arrive south of Copacabana beach and we will cover the entire cycle path towards Botafogo.

9

15 min

From Copacabana we will follow the cycle path and reach the Botafogo beach, where there will be a spectacular view of the Sugar Loaf.

10

25 min

From the beach of Botafogo we will continue the cycle path that will take us to the most beautiful and famous park in Rio, the terro do Flamengo. We will cover it almost entirely, passing alongside the Flamengo beach, and we will return to the starting point, Santa Teresa, facing the last climb of the day.

11

10 min

We will arrive in Santa Teresa passing through the most famous and touristic street of the neighborhood, where I will show you botiques and restaurants. From Largo dos Guimaraes we will go to the starting point (a few meters away) where the tour will end.
