Delve into some of the key events of the 1920s that paved the way for Hitler's ascent to power in the 1930s. Topics including the early years in Austria, formation of the DAP and then NSDAP and the infamous Beer Hall Putsch in 1923.

Hitlers earlier years in Austria and why he came to Munich in 1913.

Hitler's return to Munich after WW1 and origins of the German workers party.

The formation of the NSDAP and history of the Swastika.

Site of the famous Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 and lead into Hitler coming to power in 1933.

Place where locals had to perform the Hitler salute.

Famous 'dodgers alley' where early German resistors avoided performing a salute further down the road at Odeonsplatz.

We finish the tour with a local resistance story.
