After a scenic ascent on the cogwheel train, you’ll arrive at the Monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat, a living sanctuary founded almost a thousand years ago and still home to a working Benedictine community. As you walk through the basilica and monastery grounds, you’ll learn how generations of monks have preserved not only the faith and traditions of this sacred site, but also its music, art, and education. After your visit to the monastery, the day continues with a stop at a family-owned organic winery. Depending on availability, your winery visit will take place either in DO Penedès at Finca Ca n’Estella, or in DO Pla de Bages at Oller del Mas, an estate set at the foot of Montserrat. Both wineries offer a deeply personal approach to their craft, reflecting generations of knowledge and care in every bottle. If you are particularly interested in discovering Cava, we recommend mentioning this in the comments when booking — we will then do our best to arrange your visit to Penedès, the homeland of traditional sparkling wine. If you are more drawn to red wines, we suggest Oller del Mas in Pla de Bages, known for its organic, character-driven reds shaped by the unique local soils and microclimate. If no preference is indicated, the winery will be selected based on availability and operational considerations, ensuring a high-quality, authentic experience in either region.
